I am a happily married mom of two little boys living in suburban Philadelphia, PA. I discovered scrapbooking when my older son was a year old, and I have been addicted ever since! I enjoy the creative outlet, and I love knowing that my precious photos are preserved in albums that will be cherished by my family for generations.

I actually started creating scrapbooks strictly as a way to ensure that my photos and memorabilia would be protected from fading and discoloration. However, once I started scrapbooking, I discovered a love and a talent for creative layout design on my pages. My albums tell a story now, rather than just displaying my photos. Through the use of titles, artistic embellishments and "journaling" (recording the stories behind the photos), I am able to capture a more complete picture of the memories that I am preserving. And creatively designed scrapbooks are definitely more fun to look at! My children spend hours looking at the albums and asking questions about the pictures, and because I took the time to journal the stories, I am almost always able to answer them. It is so rewarding to me to be able to chronicle and share my family history in this way.

I started Enduring Expressions in 2002 after receiving several requests from friends and relatives to make custom scrapbooks for them. I have found that many people love the concept of a photo-safe and embellished scrapbook, but they often believe that they do not have the time or the creativity to make these albums themselves. I started Enduring Expressions in order to share my experience, expertise and love of the craft with the community by creating scrapbooks for others.

My business has three main goals: to protect the client’s photos and memorabilia from damage, to record the stories behind the photos, and to design pages and albums that are both aesthetically pleasing and a unique expression of each client’s personality and vision for their album. It is so rewarding to help a client safely and beautifully preserve their precious pictures, memorabilia and stories in a custom album that will be treasured by current and future generations.

I decided to emphasize special event albums in my business when I realized how much creative scrapbooking can enhance the photos of these events. Tasteful accents with ribbon, beads, paper art or other embellishments can make the photos come alive in ways that they might not in a regular album. And custom design allows me to incorporate items other than photographs into a memory book. I often include decorative ‘pocket pages’ for storing cards, invitations or other memorabilia, and I can even design sign-in pages for an event that can be signed at the party and then seamlessly integrated into the album. All of this results in a truly unique and exceptional memento of a joyous occasion. Photo-safe products ensure that the album and its contents will last for several lifetimes. After all of the time and energy spent planning a special event, shouldn’t the album receive the same loving care?

Over nine years of experience has helped me develop a distinctive style of memory book design. My work has been featured on the DIY Network and Home and Garden Network scrapbooking television series. I have had layouts published in three different national scrapbooking publications: Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks and Memory Makers. I have also attended seminars and have received a certificate in scrapbook design from Creating Keepsakes University.

I believe it is important to give to the community in other ways as well. I frequently donate specialty albums to charity events in my area. My work has been auctioned at benefits for such causes as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation and several Philadelphia area synagogues.
